Our Locations

We offer a variety of destinations in western Mexico. Manzanillo is known as the sailfish capital of the world, and is widely known as a winter destination. It’s an official sister city of Minnesota’s capital, St. Paul, and has strong business and cultural ties to the U.S. It features gorgeous beaches, spas, hotels and, of course, world-class sea fishing. Inland, we suggest a stay at the resort town of Ajijic, a romantic village situated on the shore of Lake Chapala, Mexico’s largest lake. The town is less than an hour’s drive from Guadalajara, Mexico’s second largest city and the nation’s “arts and crafts” capital. Ajijic is also one of Mexico’s best-kept secrets and has what’s considered the second best climate in the world. Those who know the area rightly call it “paradise.” World-class dental care is available in either Manzanillo or Guadalajara.

Ajijic

Now a community with many “Northerners”, Ajijic is located on the shores of Lake Chapala, the largest natural lake in Mexico. Measuring about 50 miles long by 10 miles wide, it is at an altitude of 5000 feet. Fed by the natural rains that occur during the summer nights, Lake Chapala is not only beautiful, but also serves as a haven for the local community. Fishing, swimming and boating are just a few of the escapes that greet you at scenic Lake Chapala.

Ajijic is known for its tree lined, cobblestone paved streets. Always outfitted with fun decorations for Mexico’s holidays, Ajijic offers so much for the casual “turistas”. Fine restaurants and noted art galleries are prevalent up and down from the wonderful town square. The square is also home to cultural events and celebrations that are scheduled throughout the year. Be sure to check the calendar for what is going on in Ajijic. You won’t want to miss it.

Also, just down the road from Ajijic, is located the world-class hotel and spa, El Chante. You can relax with a simple message or detoxify your entire body at this decadent retreat. Find yourself and slip away to the serenity and magic at El Chante.

Manzanillo

Manzanillo has claimed the title, “Sailfish Capital of the World” since 1954. Located on Mexico’s Pacific Gold Coast, sport-fishing enthusiasts have caught the largest number of trophy sailfish in the world in its surrounding ocean waters. Incredibly lovely, fine golden sand beaches line the two bays, which also make Manzanillo the main seaport on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. Beaches such as “Miramar” and “La Boquita”, boast gentle waves that make them ideal for swimming and other water sports. Snorkeling and water skiing are just two of the many activities you can enjoy.

Only 50 minutes away from Manzanillo is the State of Colima’s capital city, Colima. Travelers will enjoy a day trip to this “Magical” city surrounded by natural beauty. Colima’s volcano provides a perfect background to the historical presence in this lovely town. A visit to Colima creates memories that last forever.
